Discover the stories behind the flavours – Join Healthy Traditions at two food festivals!
Do you enjoy traditional food, exploring local flavours and meeting new people? EMINA Foundation is looking for curious and enthusiastic young people to visit two autumn food festivals as part of the Healthy Traditions project.
Through conversations, short video interviews and photography, you will explore the stories behind traditional dishes and products. Your contributions will support the project’s research into culinary heritage, healthier eating and sustainability.
Two festivals, five places at each
Kolbászfesztivál – Békéscsaba
22–25 October 2026
Márton-napi Vigasságok – Szentendre
14–15 November 2026
We provide admission tickets for five participants at each festival.
What do we offer?
- An admission ticket to your selected festival.
- Reimbursement of up to HUF 10,000 per person for food and drinks consumed at the festival. Selected participants receive the reimbursement instructions in advance.
- Priority in participant selection for upcoming Healthy Traditions activities: cooking workshops planned in Budapest in winter 2026/2027 and a training course in Fonyód in April 2027.
Priority gives you an advantage in the selection process but does not guarantee a place in the later activities.
What do we ask from you?
As a participant, you take an active role in exploring and documenting the festival:
- Attend the festival and discover its culinary offerings.
- Conduct short video interviews with chefs and young visitors, with their permission.
- Collect stories about the dishes and products on display: where they come from, how they are made and what traditions surround them.
- Take photographs of the food, products and festival atmosphere.
- Share your collected materials with EMINA and complete the evaluation form we provide.
Your conversations can explore what traditional food means to young people, how recipes and eating habits change over time, and how healthier choices and sustainability feature in local food traditions.
Who can apply?
We welcome young people who are interested in food and cultural traditions, enjoy talking to others and are willing to complete the activities described above.
You do not need professional cooking, photography or filmmaking experience. Curiosity, openness and reliability matter most. A smartphone suitable for taking photos and recording videos is enough.
How to apply
Complete the application form, indicate which festival you would like to attend and briefly tell us why you are interested.
