On 29th January 2025, EMINA hosted the first webinar under the dissemination of the Greenlines project, aimed at sharing key outcomes, best practices, and practical know-how on integrating sustainability into events and projects.
Bringing together 35 participants from Hungary and beyond, including members of the International Alliance for Cultural Relations, the event attracted project managers, volunteers, and individuals dedicated to making participatory events and initiatives more sustainable.
The engaging session focused on environmental aspects of sustainable event management, offering an introduction to the core principles of sustainability in event planning. Participants explored key areas such as waste management, resource efficiency, and carbon footprint reduction, along with common environmental challenges and actionable solutions to minimise negative impacts.
Attendees were also the first to be introduced to the project’s key outputs – a practical guidebook, an insightful video series with sustainability tips, and a podcast collection designed to support more environmentally responsible project implementation.
EMINA remains committed to sharing and promoting real-life sustainable practices, ensuring that the principles of Greenlines are not only disseminated but also embedded into its own daily actions.
On 31st January 2025, EMINA hosted a webinar for project managers and employees of Hungarian CSOs, particularly youth organisations, to introduce and promote the outcomes of the Greenlines project. At its peak, the event gathered 25 professionals, highlighting the urgent need for greater environmental sustainability in project management. In Hungary, sustainability remains a growing but often underprioritised concern in the non-profit sector, making initiatives like Greenlines all the more relevant.
To set the tone, we kicked off with a short energiser, encouraging participants to reflect on the impact of small choices – such as the materials we use during events – on the planet’s well-being. This interactive start helped bridge the gap between everyday practices and the broader environmental consequences they carry.
EMINA then presented the key outcomes of the Greenlines project, including a practical manual, an insightful video series, and a collection of podcasts designed to support project managers and facilitators in integrating sustainability into their work. A major highlight was the inspiring cross-border bike trip, which united partners from Italy, Hungary, Austria, and Portugal – proving that sustainable mobility can be both feasible and impactful.
Another key moment was the introduction of the Greendex tool, designed to calculate a project’s carbon footprint. This tool serves as a valuable resource for organisations looking to critically assess their activities and transition towards more eco-friendly alternatives.
Beyond knowledge-sharing, the event sparked new collaborations and fresh ideas, empowering organisations to turn sustainability commitments into meaningful action.
