Youth Workers Go to Summer Meeting: presenting the outcomes of Youth Workers Go to Theatre at the IACR Summer Meeting 2025 – a follow-up activity showcasing theatre methods in youth work.
The IACR Summer Meeting 2025, held between 26–29 June in Fonyód, Hungary, provided a timely and valuable setting to share and reflect on the outcomes of the Youth Workers Go to Theatre project. The four-day event gathered representatives of nine organisations across three continents, creating a dynamic space for dialogue, partnership-building, and forward-looking planning in youth work and cultural relations.
Youth Workers Go to the IACR Summer Meeting
During the meeting, the EMINA Career Guidance Foundation facilitated a follow-up activity dedicated to the project implemented earlier in Georgia and Armenia. This included presentations of the project’s methodologies, session formats, and educational tools, as well as reflections on participants’ experiences. The dissemination was not limited to formal presentations but extended into discussions within working groups and informal networking moments, ensuring that the project’s spirit of creativity and collaboration was fully captured.
Engagement of partners and participants
The event was particularly meaningful as it was attended by representatives of the project’s partner organisations from Hungary and Ukraine, together with several past participants of the project. Their presence allowed for authentic testimonies about the project’s impact and created opportunities to brainstorm ideas for potential follow-up initiatives. Sharing these perspectives strengthened the link between Youth Workers Go to Theatre and the broader IACR network, reinforcing its relevance for future cooperation.
From results to continuation
The dissemination at the Summer Meeting was not only about presenting results but also about looking ahead. Partners and participants reflected on how the methods and outcomes of the Youth Workers Go to Theatre project could be adapted and expanded in future activities under IACR. Ideas included integrating theatre-based methods into upcoming youth exchanges, leadership trainings, and intercultural dialogue projects.
Conclusion
By embedding the Youth Workers Go to Theatre project into the programme of the IACR Summer Meeting 2025, EMINA ensured that the project’s outcomes were widely shared, meaningfully discussed, and positioned for continuation. The initiative highlighted the value of using theatre as a tool in youth work, while also strengthening ties within the international network of cultural relations organisations.
