The “Dance Your Emotions” workshop is not about dance techniques — it’s about emotional expression through movement. Rooted in the methods of dance therapy, this session invites participants to connect with their inner world, release tension, and explore how the body can give voice to what words often cannot.
This creative process allows each individual to externalize emotions, reflect on their mental states, and reclaim a sense of inner balance — aligning with the broader goals of the Art Well project to support youth mental health through artistic expression.
The session includes guided improvisational movement, reflection moments, and a creative exercise designed to connect motion and emotion.
This workshop is organised as part of the Art Well project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union, aiming to support youth mental health through artistic self-expression and inclusive local activities.
Digital outcomes
Participants will create:
-
A set of emotion cards inspired by their movements,
-
Selected photographs capturing expressive moments during the session — forming a visual diary of the experience.
Background
This workshop was designed based on insights from the local Focus Group Meetings held earlier in the project. Participants expressed the need for non-verbal, body-based methods to help young people cope with stress, anxiety, and emotional overload. Dance emerged as a powerful, inclusive tool that speaks to the body, mind, and soul.
Who can participate?
The workshop is open to young people aged 16–30, with a focus on inclusivity and accessibility. No prior dance experience is required — just openness, curiosity, and a willingness to move.
